My Approach to the Highlight Video

I'm a little biased here but I absolutely think you should have a highlight video for your wedding and it's the one thing I push to include in my packages. Here's the deal, many of your friends and family may not want to sit through 30 minutes to an hour of your full wedding video. But they do enjoy and are willing to watch about 5 minutes of highlights from your big day. They enjoy seeing the big moments: entrances, first glances, ring exchanges, and of course, the first kiss.

So here's my approach to how I create my highlight videos if you book me as your wedding videographer. Following the wedding day, I usually wait about three days to check back with you. This gives you time to decompress after all the events of the wedding and not worry about making any immediate decisions. I ask if there are any special songs that you would like your video set to. You are free to choose any song you like because this is your video.

Once you give me the song, I will go through all of the footage and combine the clips to deliver a video that tells your wedding story from beginning to end. I place most clips in chronological order and try to create an experience that feels like watching one of your favorite love song music videos. I also want to capture the love and the energy between you and your spouse. I'm very meticulous in making sure that the moments on screen are aligning with specific moments in the song and not just randomly tying scenes together just because they look good. Typically I deliver the final videos via YouTube and Google Drive within two weeks after receiving the song choice.

The highlight video is something that people continually come back to. I have videos that I have uploaded from years ago that continue to get views online. Couples won't always watch the full video regularly, but I always receive feedback on how much they enjoy watching and sharing the highlight videos. And I'm always honored to share in their excitement.
